It’s always tough to know what to write about oneself, so I’m afraid I’ve done what comes naturally to me and erred towards eccentricity. But here are a few more details:

I commonly describe myself as an oldschool geek girl. That is, I came of age in the early days of consumer-level internet and embraced it as early as I had access. I made my first website at 13 years old … in notepad. (It was a Xena: Warrior Princess fan site.) I spent most of my free time hanging around in MUDs and chat rooms. I built and repaired computers. I was obsessed with Star Trek. I played a lot of games.

Now I’m just this quirky geek woman—a demographic I’m happy to say has seen nothing but growth in my lifetime. I’ve run a World of Warcraft guild for almost 10 years, performed in The Rocky Horror Picture Show for slightly longer, and like to participate in sci-fi and comic book conventions. Otherwise, I spend a lot of time tracking down and devouring foreign genre television and comedies, cosplaying some really obscure stuff, and in general trying my best to be a helpful and pleasant maven in fan culture and the world at large.
